Mr. & Mrs. Burkin

Kristin Weber and Peter Burkin became Mr. & Mrs. Burkin on November 26, 2011.  Their ceremony was held at Linehan Chapel, at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. The chapel was the perfect location for the bringing together of not just two people, but two families as well. Following the ceremony guests joined the happy bride and groom for dinner and dancing at Jack’s Place, at the Durand Eastman Golf Course. The scene was glowing softly with candles lit and lights dimmed as the bride and groom made their grand entrance into the banquet hall. After sharing their first dance surrounded by their wedding party and loved ones, the bride and groom sat at the head table and were toasted by the father of the bride, the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  After enjoying a tasty dinner Kristin and Peter, helped by Peter’s son John, cut their wedding cake and then got the party started out on the dance floor. Mr. & Mrs. Burkin are truly a couple worth celebrating, and they were surround by friends and loved ones who did just that. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Mr. & Mrs. Westerholt

Matthew and Danielle were married on October 22, 2011 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Buffalo, NY. It’s been such a wonderful experience working with Matt and Dani, especially because they always choose unique and different locations for their pictures. For their engagement pictures, which came out beautifully, we went to the Reinstein Nature Preserve which is pretty far off the beaten path as far as your standard Buffalo engagement photo locations are concerned. I loved taking their engagement photos, and for their wedding photos Dani and Matt also chose a location that I had never before photographed at. We headed out to Como Park in Lancaster, NY after the wedding ceremony and had a great time taking wedding party pictures with Matt and Dani’s groomsmen and bridesmaids. Como Park was such a good choice for a location, we had a lot of fun taking photographs, and it also happens to be where Dani went as a high school student for her prom pictures, which I love! After Como Park we headed to the reception, which was held at Kloc’s Garden Grove in West Seneca, NY to celebrate the marriage of Matt and Dani. The maid of honor and best man did a great job with their speeches, and Dani’s mom had made huge piles of Italian wedding cookies that were gobbled up by all of the guests. I may have even enjoyed a few myself! Congratulations Matt and Dani, may your life together be full of nothing but picture perfect moments!

Mr. & Mrs. Stephens

October 1, 2011 was the perfect day for a wedding, even though the skies were cloudy and the weather cool. Truth be told, no matter what the weather may be outside it’s extremely difficult to find a day that isn’t perfect for a wedding, natural disasters aside. It’s the couple that makes the day, not the weather, and you’d be hard pressed to find a better couple then Greg and Jess. After getting ready at their parents houses Greg and Jess got married at the Newfane Methodist Church in Newfane, NY. While we had planned to do photographs at Olcott Beach the weather outside had other plans. Thankfully Greg and Jess had called the Van Horn Mansion in Burt, NY and arranged to have their photographs taken there instead. The Van Horn Mansion is such a great location to take photographs at I could have stayed there all day, and will certainly make a point to visit again in the future. After photographs we headed over to the 4-H Center in Lockport, NY for Greg and Jess’s reception, complete with a bobble head cake topper, a sweets table and even a home made piñata. Rather then guests tapping their glasses in an effort to have the bride and groom kiss, friends and family were instead encourage to select a love song of choice with which to serenade the bride and groom with. If the bride and groom thought the song was well performed, they would indeed show their approval with a kiss. Most guests performed with the other people sitting at their tables through out dinner, with the mike being passed through out the room and the dj playing musical accompaniment. I’m pretty sure my favorite performance was “Can you feel the love tonight”, but it’s hard to say for sure. Congratulations to Jess and Greg, may you feel the same love that was so present at your wedding day through out every day of your marriage.

Kristin and Peter

I always love a rainy day! While it doesn’t seem like it would be the perfect weather conditions to photograph in, an over cast day with a slight drizzle can add so much character and visual interest to a photo shoot. Thank goodness Kristin and Peter were just as excited for their engagement shoot as I was, despite the dreary weather. We had a great time walking around Mendon Ponds Park in Rochester, NY, umbrellas and all!
